With
the SmartParts Information Server, operator instructions are neatly
handled in a totally electronic form with the SmartParts Information
Server. There are two levels of operator instructions; Engineering Notes
and Supervisor Notes. These are automatically related to the part number,
and password-secured to prevent unauthorized alterations.
The Engineering Notes may be created in three different ways: They may be
output automatically from your Valor or other scriptable CAM system, they
may be created in any text editor, or they may be entered directly with a
web browser. These notes carry a high-level password security. |

The
supervisor notes may be created and edited from any web browser in the
company. The name of the last supervisor who edited the notes is
automatically posted to the top of the file.
With electronically stored and delivered operator notes, critical
instructions are never lost or improperly altered. Best of all, they're
readily available to your CAM operators, so they can be checked when a job
is reissued. This way, recurring problems can be corrected, because the
right experience-based information is automatically available to the CAM
engineers. |
