Eutectic Die collets are used to attach the die to the
substrate.
Die collets are designed to pick up the die by the edges. The inside of the collet has
slanted sides. The four-sided collet is referred to as an "inverted pyramid"
type and the two-sided collet is referred to as a "channel" type.
The four-sided collet has the advantage of absolute control of positioning of the die
because it is contained on all four sides.
The two-sided collet has the advantage of
additional clearance on each end to place the die adjacent to a wall or another
device.
The disadvantage is the die can only be scrubbed in one axis and the die may change
position in the other direction. |

The collet is designed so that 50% of the die thickness extends
out of the cavity or channel. During some conditions either the eutectic or epoxy material
may extrude up onto the face of the collet and contaminate it. To eliminate this condition
the customer should order the collet calling for a thinner die size than is actually
used.
The collet will be made smaller and allow more of the die to the exposed away from the
face.

shank is not listed, Gaiser Tool Company can make a shank style per customer drawings or
